An instagram marketing campaign for a premium skincare brand has to teach before it sells. This project built content pillars and paid promotion around explaining a Korean-French skincare identity to a UK audience.

The positioning problem behind the campaign

Erborian is a genuinely distinctive proposition - Korean formulation with French finish - and distinctiveness is only an advantage once people understand it. Until then it reads as another premium skincare brand in a category full of them.

The UK beauty audience is well informed and sceptical. Claims are compared, ingredients are researched, and a brand that leads with imagery alone gets scrolled past by exactly the buyer it wants.

So the campaign could not be a promotion schedule. It had to answer a question first: why is this different, and why should that matter to me?

How we built the campaign

We defined content pillars so every post had a job - education, product storytelling, routine demonstration or social proof - rather than filling a calendar with whatever was available.

Educational creative carried the positioning. Explaining the formulation approach does more for a premium brand than another product shot, because it gives the audience something to repeat to someone else.

Paid promotion was then pointed at skincare intent rather than broad demographics, so the education reached people already researching rather than people merely scrolling.

What the campaign included

Defined content pillars with a stated job for every post

Educational creative explaining the Korean-French formulation approach

Product storytelling tied to routines rather than isolated products

Influencer-style narrative angles that fit the brand register

Audience targeting built around premium skincare intent

A measurement view connecting engagement to storefront traffic

What changed

The campaign improved brand clarity, produced stronger engagement signals, and supported more qualified traffic from social into the digital storefront.

The difference in kind matters more than the difference in volume: the audience arriving from social now knows what the brand is before it lands on a product page.

Instagram campaign questions

Should a premium brand post educational content?

For a differentiated product, yes. If the audience cannot explain what makes you different, the difference is not doing any work.

How many content pillars are enough?

Three or four. Fewer becomes repetitive, more becomes unmanageable and the account loses a recognisable voice.

Does paid promotion replace organic posting?

No. Paid distributes what organic proves. Promoting content that has not earned attention organically is expensive guessing.

How is a campaign like this measured?

By whether qualified traffic reaches the store and behaves differently once it arrives, not by follower count alone.

What we would do the same way again

Plan the calendar before the creative. A consistent posting rhythm the client's own team can sustain is worth more than a burst of excellent work that stops after six weeks.

Decide which signals matter before launch. Reach flatters; saves, replies and click-throughs to a product page tell you whether the audience actually moved.

Keep the visual system small enough to reuse. Three templates that get used beat twelve that get abandoned.
