B2B Lead Generation Services

B2B lead generation built on a tight ICP and researched lists. Fill your pipeline with conversations your sales team will actually want to take.

Researchers reviewing a target account list for a B2B lead generation programme

Your sales team stopped trusting the pipeline for a reason. The last list contained companies that could not buy, contacts who had left, job titles with no relationship to the problem and accounts too small for the offer. After enough dead-end research and awkward calls, representatives protect their time by ignoring the next batch. The visible loss is data spend; the larger loss is selling time and confidence.

OveliTHub provides research-led B2B lead generation services for considered software and service sales. We define a usable ideal customer profile, identify timely accounts, verify the people involved, design a proportionate multi-channel sequence and hand sales a contextualised, qualified conversation. The programme is built for commercial leaders who would rather defend a smaller target list than inflate an MQL report.

Our central position is simple: quality is decided in the list before it is tested in the message. Excellent copy cannot make the wrong company suitable, give an irrelevant contact authority or create a buying condition that does not exist. The list is the first commercial hypothesis, and every record needs a reason to be there.

Quality is decided in the list, not the message

A broad brief such as “technology companies in Europe” can produce a large file and still be unusable. It says nothing about business model, seat count, technical environment, buying responsibility, operational pain, timing or exclusions. Outreach then carries an impossible burden: each message must discover whether the account should have entered the list at all.

A list-first programme reverses the order. We establish the account conditions and disqualifiers, test whether reliable sources can support them, and sample real companies before campaign design. Messaging comes later, based on the evidence researchers can consistently find and the claims the client can substantiate.

This also makes failure diagnosable. If target accounts reply but reject the premise, the hypothesis or offer may be wrong. If the right roles engage but cannot act, buying-committee mapping needs work. If records bounce or belong to former employees, verification failed. If no one sees the message, channel execution may be at fault. A single “lead volume” number hides all four problems.

Building an ICP narrow enough to be useful

An ideal customer profile describes the organisation most likely to experience the problem, receive meaningful value and complete the buying process. It is not a list of prestigious logos the company hopes to win. We begin with the client’s best-fit closed-won accounts, strong retained customers, credible late-stage opportunities and losses that reveal a boundary.

ICP dimension Evidence to specify Disqualifier example
Firmographics Region, industry, business model, revenue band or employee range, locations and growth stage. Outside service geography or below the viable operating scale.
Operating environment Relevant systems, process maturity, channel mix, team structure or installed technology. Required integration is absent or the use case is already structurally solved.
Problem and consequence An observable condition connected to the offer, plus the cost or risk the buyer recognises. No material problem, no ownership or a need outside the product’s capability.
Buying committee Likely user, operational owner, evaluator, budget authority, procurement or security involvement. Contact has no role in the problem and cannot route the discussion.
Commercial fit Expected contract range, sales complexity, implementation requirement and buying horizon. Budget, timing or delivery conditions cannot support a credible engagement.

The disqualifier column is mandatory. A narrow ICP should exclude plausible-looking accounts. If it does not hurt the headline market size, it probably will not protect sales time. We document hard exclusions separately from softer prioritisation signals so researchers do not quietly reinterpret the standard to meet a volume target.

The first deliverable is an ICP worksheet with field definitions, accepted values, sources, confidence rules and examples of included and excluded accounts. The client’s commercial owner approves it before a full list is produced.

Trigger events: why now rather than someday

Fit explains why an account could buy. A trigger explains why a conversation may be relevant now. OveliTHub defines triggers that are observable, sourceable and logically connected to the offer rather than treating any company news as intent.

Useful triggers can include:

  • a hiring pattern that indicates a new function, workload or capability gap;
  • a leadership change connected to the buying area;
  • a new location, market entry, service line or capacity expansion;
  • adoption, replacement or consolidation of relevant technology;
  • a funding event when investment use plausibly relates to the offer;
  • a public regulatory or contract deadline that creates a real operational requirement; or
  • a seasonal planning or procurement cycle specific to the industry.

Every trigger carries a source URL, observed date, account relevance and expiry rule. “Raised funding” is not enough if the offer has no relationship to the funded plan. “Hiring” is weak unless the role and pattern reveal the problem. A trigger that cannot be explained in one factual sentence is not used as personalisation.

Monitoring cadence depends on how quickly the signal decays. Leadership and location events may remain relevant for weeks; a tender or compliance deadline may require faster action. The programme records when a trigger was last verified so an old event is not presented as recent.

Research and list building, done by people

We do not buy a bulk file, rename columns and call it research. Researchers build or validate accounts against the approved criteria, document their sources and reject records that cannot meet the evidence standard. Tools can help discover candidates; a person decides whether the evidence supports inclusion.

  1. Source the account. Identify a candidate from approved directories, company sources, public filings, professional networks, industry sources or client data.
  2. Verify ICP fit. Confirm the required firmographic and operating fields from more than one point when the field is material or ambiguous.
  3. Map relevant roles. Identify likely users, owners and decision participants without claiming authority that cannot be observed.
  4. Verify the person. Check current employer, role, seniority, location and the permitted business contact route as close to release as practical.
  5. Capture context. Record the trigger or account-specific reason, its source and the limited personalisation hook it supports.
  6. Run quality control. Review required fields, duplicates, exclusions, suppression status, source dates and confidence before campaign entry.

A bad contact costs more than a bounce. It wastes researcher and seller attention, damages the recipient’s perception of the brand, pollutes campaign learning and can affect sender or account health. A bad-fit contact who replies is not success; it is evidence the list rule failed.

Clients needing research as a standalone input can use our prospect research services. This page covers the managed programme that turns an approved list hypothesis into conversations and qualified handovers.

The channels, and the order to use them

A considered B2B buyer may notice the account name in one place, understand relevance in another and respond through a third. The sequence coordinates those touches without repeating the same pitch everywhere. Channel choice follows account context, available lawful data, buyer behaviour, urgency and the client’s brand tolerance.

Channel Best programme use Control
Email Deliver a concise, reviewable relevance statement and easy reply path. Accurate identity, approved sending infrastructure, suppression and market-specific requirements.
Telephone Test the problem directly, clarify role and handle a live question. Calling-hour, identity, recording, consent and do-not-call controls appropriate to the contact.
LinkedIn Research public role context and create a proportionate professional touch where platform rules permit. No automated abuse, false identity or tactic that exceeds the client’s approved account use.
Targeted paid media Support recognition across a tightly defined account audience when economics justify it. Audience-source, platform, privacy and attribution review before activation.

The order is tested in small cohorts. A call may follow an email when the message supplies useful context. A public professional interaction may precede direct contact. Not every record receives every touch, and a refusal or valid opt-out ends the relevant route.

Email deliverability, domain configuration and sender reputation are a separate operating discipline; see cold email support services. Detailed LinkedIn seat operation belongs with a LinkedIn lead generation assistant. The lead-generation programme sets the research, sequence and evidence standard.

What we hand over as a lead

A downloaded ebook, scanned badge or unverified form fill is a contact event, not automatically a qualified sales lead. OveliTHub’s handover is a structured record that a seller can assess and act on without reconstructing the conversation.

The record includes the current contact and company; relevant ICP fields and confidence; the trigger or reason for timing; source and campaign cohort; qualifier answers; objections or constraints raised; stakeholders mentioned; the prospect’s stated interest; and the agreed next step. Direct statements are separated from researcher inference. Missing answers stay missing rather than being filled with assumptions.

The handover threshold is approved before launch. It may require a live conversation, written reply, validated project condition or accepted meeting, depending on the sales motion. If appointment booking and confirmation are included, our appointment setting services process governs the booked-to-held stage. Otherwise, the qualified conversation is routed to the client’s sales team under the agreed SLA.

Sales returns an acceptance and later opportunity disposition. That feedback teaches the programme whether the account, contact and timing definition predicted genuine pipeline. Without it, lead generation can only optimise replies.

Compliance in cold B2B outreach

B2B does not mean rule-free. Requirements depend on jurisdiction, channel, recipient type, data source and technology. The client approves target markets, lawful basis or consent position, claims, suppression sources and required notices, with qualified legal advice where needed. OveliTHub implements the documented controls and pauses uncertain cases.

For US commercial email, the FTC’s current CAN-SPAM guide states that the law has no B2B exception. It requires accurate header information, non-deceptive subject lines, advertisement identification, a valid physical address, a clear opt-out route, timely honouring of opt-outs and monitoring of vendors acting for the sender. Programme templates and suppression operations reflect the client’s approved compliance interpretation.

For European personal data, a claimed legitimate interest is an assessment, not a slogan. The organisation must consider purpose, necessity, proportionality, reasonable expectations and the person’s rights, alongside channel-specific rules in the target country. The European Commission’s guidance says people must be informed of direct-marketing use and their free right to object; once they object, their personal data may no longer be processed for that purpose.

Operational records include source, collection or verification date, target rationale, approved channel, notice or template version, campaign history and suppression status. Opt-outs are actioned across relevant programme systems. We do not hide identity, scrape against platform rules, invent familiarity or transfer one client’s list to another.

Measuring a programme honestly

Lead and MQL counts are activity context, not the commercial goal. Definitions are easy to loosen under volume pressure, and a growing top-of-funnel count can coexist with declining seller trust. We keep them visible but subordinate them to outcomes sales recognises.

  • Conversations held show where an eligible contact meaningfully engaged.
  • Qualified opportunities created use the client’s written CRM stage and acceptance criteria.
  • Opportunity-to-close rate shows downstream quality by cohort after enough sales-cycle time has passed.
  • Cost per qualified opportunity combines programme cost with accepted pipeline output.
  • Pipeline and closed value by cohort connect account source, ICP version, trigger and campaign period to commercial progression.

Cost per qualified opportunity is the useful negotiation metric because it forces agreement on what “qualified” means and exposes the trade between research depth and accepted output. It is not a guarantee of closed revenue. Close rate also depends on offer, pricing, sales execution, competition and the time required for a considered decision.

Long sales cycles are handled with leading and lagging views. Early reviews examine list acceptance, conversations and opportunity creation. Later cohort reviews add progression and revenue without crediting a young campaign for deals that have not had time to mature.

When quality falls, increasing volume is usually the wrong first response. We inspect exclusions, source accuracy, contact mapping, trigger strength, claim relevance and sales feedback. A smaller corrected cohort is more informative than another large batch built on the same assumption.

The first ninety days

Period Programme work Decision
Weeks 1–2 Analyse customers and losses, draft the ICP, define exclusions and triggers, sample accounts, confirm compliance and CRM handover. Approve the list hypothesis and quality standard.
Weeks 3–6 Release small cohorts, test approved sequences, review real replies and rejection reasons, and collect sales acceptance feedback. Correct targeting, role mapping and message premise.
Weeks 7–12 Scale the combinations that produced credible conversations and qualified opportunities while monitoring suppression and cohort quality. Set the next capacity and cost-per-opportunity plan.

The first month produces learning more reliably than pipeline. A provider promising qualified meetings in week one before understanding the client’s accounts is guessing or using a definition the sales team has not approved. Early conversations can occur, but they are evidence for calibration, not proof of a stable forecast.

OveliTHub has delivered more than 130 projects across markets including the USA, Europe and the Middle East, with work in technology, finance, construction and manufacturing. That breadth informs research discipline; the client’s own evidence still determines the ICP.

Do you work in our CRM?

Yes, where access and configuration support the programme. We agree campaign, source, status, qualification and handover fields without redesigning the client’s entire CRM. Teams needing broader deduplication, stage governance and administration should review CRM lead management services .

Who owns the list and research?

Ownership and permitted use are stated in the engagement, subject to data licences, platform terms and applicable law. Client-specific research is not reused for another client. Source restrictions and retention rules remain attached to the data.

Do you offer sector exclusivity?

Exclusivity must be defined by market, service, geography, account overlap and period. We discuss conflicts during scoping and document any commitment. A broad undefined promise is not useful to either party.

Can you integrate with our existing SDR team?

Yes. OveliTHub can own ICP research, list release, trigger monitoring and campaign coordination while internal SDRs handle conversations. Acceptance SLAs and feedback fields prevent duplicated work. If a single operator is needed rather than a managed programme, consider a lead generation assistant .

What is the minimum term?

The term should cover research, controlled release and enough opportunity progression to evaluate the agreed leading indicators. It varies by market and sales cycle and is stated before launch. We will not extend a programme merely to increase lead count when the ICP evidence is weak.

How are leads handed to sales?

Qualified records enter the approved CRM queue with company context, trigger, source, qualifier answers, objection and next step. Routing can follow territory, account owner, product or availability. The seller accepts, rejects with a defined reason, or requests missing evidence.

Can you work in a very narrow market?

Yes, if sufficient identifiable accounts exist and the economics support deeper research. A niche market makes account selection and brand control more important because contacts cannot be treated as disposable. The sample-list stage tests feasibility before scale.
